The disc usually gets stuck when the console is horizontally resting. Placing it vertically may help dislodge it. Wait about 30 minutes. Reconnect all of the cords. Boot into safe mode by holding the power button for 7 to 8 seconds. Cross your fingers. That's really it. The disc should hopefully eject now.
As expected when it started again I had the file system corrupted message but this time, PS3 could not repair and notified me formatting is my only option. Turned to safe mode, tried to restore the file system from there, and it is just stuck on "Preparing" for ever.
To get into safe mode take out the drive and power on th ps3. Hold the button til it beeps 1 then 2 times the letgo when it asks for you to hit the ps button do it and your in safe mode.

Boot the PS3 into Safe Mode by using the power button method (Google how to do this.) Connect a Dualshock 3 controller via USB cable. Select the last option in the Safe Mode Menu: "Restore PS3".
